Tutor system
During the programme, you are required to carry out research and to write a scientific paper under guidance by a personal tutor. Tutors are staff members of the institutes and departments participating in Nihes. Our tutor system effectively helps you to integrate in the relevant research environment and to establish professional and social contacts.
Guest lectures
Leading scientists from around the world are regularly invited to give special lectures in the programmes. In addition, you will have the opportunity to attend special seminars and presentations organised by the departments of the Nihes partner institutions.
Nihes Award
Each year, during the Graduation Ceremony in August, an award is presented to the NIHES Master’s student who is first author of the best papers (or draft papers) written under the guidance of a Nihes tutor in the current academic year. Two awards are given, each consisting of a certificate and € 500. Nihes tutors and scientific personnel involved in the Nihes programmes nominate one or more students they believe to be eligible for a Nihes Award.
