On Friday 25 August 2006, the 41 young scientists below graduated from the Netherlands Institute for Health Sciences and received their Master of Science / Doctor of Science degree.
Mr Egil Fischer (Master in Epidemiology) and Mr Daan Caudri (Master in Clinical Epidemiology) each received a Nihes Award for having written the best research paper of their year. Egil for ‘Spatial distribution of leprosy in three population samples in northwest Bangladesh: understanding transmission patterns of M. leprae’, and Daan for ‘Birth weight at term and respiratory symptoms in young children: interaction with parental smoking – the PIAMA birth cohort’. Each award consisted of a certificate and €500.
