Medical and health insurance

Back

Everyone who lives in the Netherlands (even temporarily) is required by law to have a health insurance. Personal liability insurance is also required; this covers damage caused accidentally to other people.

W.B.D. Lippman Group BV (www.acepolis.com/ips) and AON Corporation (www.myaon.nl/students) offer complete cross-border insurance policies for a stay abroad, anywhere in the world. These insurances offer extensive coverage for the following: medical and urgent dental treatment, special expenses and assistance, accidents, liability, legal assistance, and loss of baggage.

Please note that, to take out insurance, you will need a Dutch bank account number. Upon your arrival in the Netherlands, Nihes will assist you in opening a bank account. Of course you can also take out an appropriate insurance in your home country.
