The 22-year-old medical and PhD student, Denise van der Linde, has won the Prof. Bruin prize. The award consists of a cash prize of EUR 4500 towards studying abroad.
The Prof. Bruins prize honors Master of Research students at Rotterdam Erasmus University with outstanding academic achievements and research skills.
PhD
Denise van der Linde is a fifth year medical student and has completed the Research Master Clinical Research. She has temporarily deferred her medical internship so as to be able to complete her PhD at the Cardiology department.
With distinction
Van der Linde’s supervisors, Prof. Jolien Roos-Hesslink and Dr. Hanneke Takkenberg describe her as being enthusiastic, dedicated and talented. The young PhD student completed both her MSc in Medicine and her Master of Research with distinction.
Toronto
Van der Linde will use the prize money to carry out several months of research in Toronto in the fall of this year. “I am going to Peter Munk Cardiac Center to study congenital heart defects. The research will be part of the studies that I set up at Erasmus MC.”
The prize will be awarded during the opening of the academic year on Monday 5 September.
