Clinical Epidemiology (one-year, full-time)

Research period

The research training starts with formulating a research question and writing a research proposal. This proposal should include, among other things, the research objectives, the study design, the data-collection and the data-analysis procedure, and your time schedule. The research topic you choose, will determine the department or research group you will be assigned to and where you will be carrying out your research project.

You may choose 15 to 20 days of electives.
Research period
29.2 ECTS
In January, you will start working on your research project after approval of your proposal by your personal tutor. This tutor is a senior staff member at one of the departments/research groups participating in Nihes who will supervise you during your research period; you will write a scientific paper under his or her guidance. You are required to present your project to the department/research group of your tutor. This presentation should take place at least three weeks before graduating. Your paper must be approved by your tutor at the beginning of August and should be suitable for submission to an international, scientific journal.

Additional courses (3.5 ECTS) to be chosen by the student.
Graduation Ceremony
The Nihes Graduation Ceremony takes place at the end of August. You can graduate only if the final assessment of your performance is sufficient. You assessment will be based on the examination marks of the courses you attended (50%) and on the quality of your scientific paper (50%).
